Animals Tundras a wide range of animal species. Some examples are, Arctic foxes, Caribou, Grizzlies, Polar bears, Snowy Owls, and Harlequin ducks. Arctic fox~ the arctic fox lives in small barrows in rock piles. They're scavengers, and find their food from animals that have already died. They do this by following large animals like Polar bears, and feed off the remains they leave behind. Caribou~ They live in Arctic tundras, and Mountain tundras. Caribou are great swimmers, and use their feet as paddles. They can also lower their metablic rate and go into semi- hibernation. Grizzlies~ Found on the Alaskian and Northwest tundra. They live in the forests, meadows, and in valleys. They have very thick fur, but despite that, they have layers of fat that help them stay warm in hibernation. Polar brears~ They can be found through the Polar regions of the Northern hemisphere. They're the largest carnivores on land and have two layers of fur. Snowy Owl~ They are the largest owls, and they have bright white feathers. They use this as camoflauge to blend in to the snow in tundras. The male has brighter colors, and the female is darker. Harlequin Ducks~ They get their name because of the decorated appearance of the male Harlequin duck. These birds have webbed feet so they can navigate currents in the water. They don't mate or even mix with other forms of ducks.
